Dhaulagiri II

As seldom expedition have made attempt to this mountian (Dhaulagiri II) still here the isolation remains and there is nothing "common" about this 7,751-m. peak, a giant even by Himalayan standards. In 1809 Dhaulagiri (main) was measured and found to be 8194 m. and reined as the tallest mountain in the world till 1848 when Kanchenjunga was measured. Forty kilometers long and encompassing no fewer than fifteen 7,000 m. plus peaks the Dhaulagiri massif is one of the tallest and biggest mountain systems in the world. Long closed to visitors, for a variety of reasons - including its remoteness, the region west and north of Dhaulagiri was opened.

This made it possible for expedition teams to go behind, north of the Dhaulagiri massif, scale the summit and even more to explore the remote valleys, which had been the sole domain of mountaineers. This extended and strenuous expedition, through high alpine pastures, higher passes and serene, uninhabited terrain, we plan to success within some 50 days to scale the summit.
